Salutations, for my senior project class we were tasked with creating a semester’s long project. I sought to design a book. This would include its internal pages, dust jacket, and hard cover design. When discussing this with my instructor I was told this would not be enough. I would need to add additional assets to my project. Stickers, bookmarks, and two promotional posters.

This book would not have been just some random one I pulled off the shelf. I have been writing it on and off for the past too many years. It’s a fiction book set in a medieval fantasy setting and these are the results of it.

Using the same type of paper as my map I made a set of knightly vows that knights would have to take.

Map

The Front of the bookmarks include the character’s name, family crest or other iconography that represents them, as well as a description of who they are.

Pins

This is my large scale world map printed on 24 × 18 in canvas matter paper. With a pocket knife I scraped along the edges and even slashed the map itself. I wanted to give it the vibes that it has been through a lot of use.

Since it is a much more durable paper than standard printer paper I was able to stain it with coffee and heat it in the oven.

This is a poem I wrote set in the world of my story. I once again stained the paper with coffee. However this paper was done on heavy matte paper.

Appendix

A thing to note about the appendix. The symbols used there next to the names of characters are actually a downloadable typeface. Using a program called Calligraphr I was able to make them. They will be downloadable here. Each of these symbols is assigned to a specific character. The characters I personally used in my book were C, G, and U.

Stickers

A set of six bookmarks. These are the backs.
